Urang stands for Ultimate Radiant + Natural Glow. It’s a new to me brand of Korean skincare founded by an aromatherapist Jina Lee. Urang is cruelty free and uses natural and organic ingredients to make effective yet safe products.
This Rose Ceramide cream lock in moisture, soothes and plumps fine lines and wrinkles. It’s advertised for all skin types and for mature skin. All ingredients are rated as safe on the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) database. The cream is available on eBay.
Active ingredients:
Rosa damascena flower water - a soothing, anti-aging component with a fantastic rose scent.
Macadamia seed oil - a close match to the naturally occurring skin sebum, this oil is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores). It contains omega 6 linoleic acid that helps balance sebum production in the skin while creating a protective barrier.
Shea butter - moisturizes and promotes healing.
Ceramide NP (1500 ppm) - ceramides are lipids naturally present in the skin. They greatly affect the look of skin by filling in the spaces between skin cells, making the skin look youthful and plump. Factors like time and sun exposure decrease the amount of ceramide in the skin, and products like this Urang cream try to restore those levels to their former glory.
How to use:
As the last step of your morning or evening routine, apply a small amount to the face and neck
Gently pat in to facilitate absorption
My impressions: I have combination skin with oily t-zone and dry-to-normal cheeks. This cream is wonderful - it smells delightfully or roses (from natural ingredients and not artificial fragrances) and feels luxuriously smooth and rich on the skin. For me, it’s too heavy during the day but is great at night. It would likely be even better during the cold, dry winter months.
A bit about packaging - glass jars make me happy. They immediately convey a sense of something expensive and special, they feel cool to the touch, and I like to think that they don’t transfer the same icky compounds that plastic sometimes can to the product inside. This little glass jar comes with an adorable, tiny spatula for a hygienic experience - instead of reaching into the jar with potentially contaminated hands, use the spatula to get the cream for each use. Then, wash the spatula to have it clean for the next time.
I love the all-natural, safe ingredients list without artificial preservatives, fragrance, and additives. If you have sensitive skin in need of extra nourishment, especially dry or aging skin, then it is worth a try.
