Etude House Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream Review

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate and often succumbs to the aging process first. Applying the same products to the lids as to the rest of the face is typically not recommended - the eye and face skin are as different as tissue paper and regular paper.

This was my first Korean beauty eye cream (ah, sweet memories). As the name suggests, it contains collagen (hydrolyzed collagen is the first ingredient) combined with various oils to deliver supreme hydration to the skin. One of the oils is from the Baobab tree that grows in the desert and has an amazing capacity to retain water; this property is supposed to carry over to the cream.

The tan colored jar is filled with thick, springy cream that is very easy to apply. It has a mild, pleasant scent that I almost don’t notice.

The cream is available on* eBay and Amazon

How to use:

  1. Apply to clean, dry skin (I recommend using a cotton swab or a small spatula to remove the product from the jar vs sticking fingers in it, for hygienic reasons)

  2. Dot a bit around your eyes, then gently pat in with your ring finger

  3. Can be used morning or evening (if using in the morning, wait for 10 minutes or so before applying makeup to make sure all of the cream has been absorbed)

This product is very nourishing and hydrating and can be a bit heavy for me in the mornings. I use it only at night and like the results - waking up with plump, nourished skin. The jar is a generous size, and sometimes I put the cream on my neck as well since the skin there requires extra nourishment (compared to the face). In the winter, when the weather is cold and the indoor air is dry, I might use it in the morning, but keep in mind that the only eye makeup I wear on the regular basis is mascara.

My impressions

Overall, this is a very good nourishing/hydrating product for the delicate eye area. The jar is huge and you might be hard pressed to finish it in a year after opening. The fact that it doubles well as a neck cream definitely helps with this issue. Plus, a neutral scent makes it a good “family” product. For me, this is a night cream since it’s too much for my skin for the daytime (I have combination skin). This is what I’m currently using during the day.

The price is very reasonable for a collagen cream, especially considering the size. And it does a great job plumping and smoothing all the fine lines and wrinkles.
