Update from 12.23.2021 - a few months ago, Klairs changed this cream. It now comes in a metal tube and people say the scent changed (or completely disappeared). I wanted to try this new version and requested it as one of my Wishtrend review items. Unfortunately, the shop sent me the old, original version. It's been a few years since I've had it, so it was still nice to use it again. I still like it for winter time, and have already finished the tube. At first glance, the ingredients look the same between the two versions. Have you tried both? Are they different?

I was first introduced to the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream when a friend generously mailed me samples from Canada last winter. I don’t like keeping half-used sample sachets, so I just slathered the entire thing on my face, it felt too heavy, and I decided it just wasn’t for me. A classic case of user error! Then, in late 2018, I made a rather large purchase on Wishtrend (code LUCY15) and decided to try this cream again, this time in full size. It's also sold YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT) and Amazon.
It contains moisturizing and protective ingredients such as shea butter and jojoba oil, as well as a plethora of natural extracts for a healthy, plumped up skin. I’m including a full list of ingredients at the end of the review.
Just as importantly, this cream does not contain parabens, ethanol, artificial colors or fragrances, and is cruelty free.
How to use:
Apply at the end of your skincare routine (after toner and essence/serum)
If using in the morning, follow with sunscreen
My impressions:
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry-to-normal cheeks. When used correctly (as in, not slathering an entire sample packet all over your face at once), this cream is amazing! It’s very soothing and emollient. My skin calms down and starts feeling happy right away (can skin be “happy”? I think so!). There is no scent that I can detect. The cream gets absorbed quickly, without sticky residue or pilling. I mostly use it before bed, but have tried it in the morning as well, especially if I know I’ll be spending any time outside in the currently unpleasant weather.
Full absorption, no residue/pilling:
Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream should also work great if you are using any exfoliating acids or any other ingredients that could cause dryness.
