Abib is a new-ish to me brand. I won a couple of wonderful packages through Picky (highly recommend that app. Sign up here using invitation code 982961C6), and have had a great time getting to know the products. Watch the unboxing reel here.
I’m currently using Abib Enriched Creme Zinc Tube. It’s available on YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for savings), Amazon, Stylevana, and eBay.
This cream promises to soothe and protect sensitive skin. In addition to the protective zinc, it contains soothing and nourishing ingredients such as sea buckthorn and argan oil, as well as centella asiatica. A full list is available at the end of the article.
How to use:
Apply to clean skin
Gently pat in to help with absorption
To be honest, I don’t always follow product directions (I often layer lots of things before moisturizer at night, regardless of what the label says), but with this cream sticking to the brand directions is critical. The product looks like regular thick moisturizer, but it doesn’t spread well over layers of other skincare. It sort of sticks, drags, and rolls - it’s hard to explain. I can get away with using a toner first, but even that is a stretch. Applied to clean skin, however, Abib zinc cream is fairly easy to spread.
Despite having zinc in the ingredients, the product doesn’t leave a white cast. It’s a little sticky immediately after application, but that goes away within about 10 minutes. There’s no scent, as far as I can tell.
My impressions
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry/normal everything else. While my morning routine is minimal (toner pad, vitamin C serum, sunscreen), I like to go all out at night. I’m talking double cleansing, toner, essence, serum (sometimes 2), eye cream, and face moisturizer. The Abib Enriched Creme Zinc Tube is incompatible with that kind of a routine.
As I already mentioned, it doesn’t spread well over other products. It’s truly meant to be used by itself (I tried it on my hand / legs, without anything else prior, and it spread just fine). This may be fantastic for people with irritated skin who don’t want to introduce too many products and just want a nice, protective cream. But for me, on most nights, this doesn’t work.
If you tried this cream and love it, please drop a comment about how you use it and what your skin is like. I’m very curious.
