It took me a little while to appreciate good moisturizers. When I first got into kbeauty, all the other, unfamiliar steps like essences and serums were more exciting. But now, five years in, I understand the value of a great cream to seal all of that goodness in. AXIS-Y uses 6+1+1 Advanced Formula skincare (611), which stands for 6 key / active ingredients, 1 core ingredient, and 1 effective technology. In this cream, the core ingredient is heartleaf - a soothing, anti-inflammatory herb rich in antioxidants. The other 6 beneficial components are: allantoin, centella asiatica, sorghum, sage, licorice, and aspergillus ferment. AXIS-Y Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream has a light texture and an opaque white color. I do not notice any scent. My combination skin absorbs it fairly quickly without any sticky residue. I also use this around the eyes with no problems, which is a good option for anyone not wanting a separate eye cream step or the expense of another jar of product.
The nozzle dispenser is my favorite type of cream packaging, because it allows me to get precisely the amount I want out of the tube.
My impressions
Another AXIS-Y win (I’m not even surprised). Every so often, I discover a brand where nearly every product fits my skin perfectly; AXIS-Y is one of those brands for me. You can read my other reviews by clicking on #AXISY.
I’m using the Heartleaf My Type cream mostly in the evenings, because I have a lot more time and energy to devote to skincare at that time. The weather warmed up again here, so my morning routine is just a toner pad - vitamin C - spf. However, when it’s colder out and more dry, AXIS-Y heartleaf cream makes for a great step before SPF.
I have combination skin with some oily and some dry areas, so picking the right moisturizer is tricky at times. This one plumps up my fine lines (especially the forehead ones) without congesting the oilier nose area. Since it’s not tacky, I can go straight to bed without sticking to the pillow - always a plus. I love how easy the cream is to spread. It’s not a true gel, it’s more of a gel-like cream - nourishing but not oily.
This has been a perfect addition to my evening routine and I am definitely going to finish the tube.
