Wishtrend recently introduced a new, exclusive brand - ELMT (pronounced as “element”) to their lineup. I was lucky enough to receive two of their products for testing before the brand even launched.
Today’s review is for ELMT Skin Illuminating Solution. Even though I have had this longer than most people, I am still actively using the product and looking forward to being able to discuss long term results in the future. Star ingredients:
Niacinamide (10%) - can help with pigmentation, appearance of pores, and brighten the skin
Grape and pomegranate extracts (51.91%) - rich in antioxidants, boost the effects of niacinamide
How to use:
Apply after cleansing (use palms or cotton pads)
Can be layered with vitamin C products for an enhanced brightening effect
The clear, colorless and odorless liquid is slightly thicker than water and has a pleasant “slip” when applied. It is vegan and cruelty free. The bottle is glass and I find it very aesthetically pleasing.
My impressions
I have combination skin that’s very fair and prone to pigmentation / freckles. Pores aren’t too bad, but could always look smaller. There’s no such thing as pores that are too small for me.
ELMT Skin Illuminating Solution has been a regular part of my evening routine for several weeks. I did not jump in with a daily application, however, because sometimes higher niacinamide percentages can cause irritation. I haven’t had any issues, so I think daily use is OK now. It’s always a good practice to start slow and patch test, especially if you have sensitive skin.
My skin is doing well with this product. There’s no stickiness or heaviness, which I appreciate. I like the slip and texture. The bottle design deserves a special mention - I love the green glass and the interesting shape. I do find myself wishing for more differentiated labels (or bottle colors?). Since I have two different ELMT solutions, I would have liked to be able to tell them apart at a glance without reading the actual labels.
My pores look clear and tight. I think I see some brightening, but again - skincare like this takes weeks of consistent use to truly work (watch out for reviewers who find a holy grail every other day). I hope this helps fade some of my freckles and prevent new ones as well.
I have high hopes for this product. As usual, Wishtrend doesn’t disappoint.
