Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer Review

Confession time - I used to think that using a concealer for eyeshadow base was a perfect makeup hack. Nope. Not so much. I’ve been spending a lot of time on YouTube makeup channels (Robert Welsh is my favorite) and learned a thing or two. Eyes really do need a special product for a primer, because most people’s lids are oily (mine definitely are) and there needs to be a barrier between that oil and the eyeshadow.

When Jolse offered to send me some PR (thanks!), I decided it’s time to get an eye primer. I went for the iconic Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer, which can be purchased on* Jolse. It’s very affordable and gets great reviews.

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer promises smooth texture, better makeup adhesion, and longer lasting eyeshadow and eyeliner. It can also smooth out fine lines (can be applied to the lower lids - not just the upper).

How to use

  • Apply to the eyelids before eyeshadow

  • Can be used with just eyeliner / without eyeshadow

The applicator is similar to that of a liquid lipstick, very soft and easy to use.

My impressions

I’m the first to admit that I am not a makeup pro in any way. But I do enjoy getting dolled up, and if I’m spending time doing it, I want it to look good as long as possible. That’s often a challenge with hooded eyes like mine.

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer has been wonderful for me. It’s not my first eye primer, but it’s my first Korean one. I love how easy it is to apply - the smooth formula glides on and doesn’t cause any dryness.

I only apply this to the upper lid and not to the lower one. If you’ve tried both, please let me know how that worked for you. The shadow is still very easy to blend on top of the primer (I mostly use Urban Decay or Korean CORINGCO brand). I have no issues with creasing, even hours later. Everything stays exactly where I put it - awesome. I haven't had any irritation or other adverse effects.

I can see why Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer has so many fans - it’s cheap, easy to use, and it works! I’m impressed.
