Out of all the I’m From products, the I’m From Rice Toner didn’t initially catch my eye. But after hearing about how amazing it is over and over from different people, I thought I really should try it for myself.
I’m From Rice Toner is made with 77.78% Rice Extract and promises to “whiten” (think more “even out”, not lighten) the skin and improve elasticity. It also supports a healthy barrier function, preventing water loss and gently removing dead skin cells. It’s sold on* Wishtrend, YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings), Stylevana, Amazon, and eBay.
How to use:
Shake well
Apply after cleansing, using hands or a cotton pad
You can also soak cotton pads in the toner and use it as a DIY mask on areas in need of extra soothing.
Please note that this toner used to come in a glass bottle. Now it comes in a plastic one. I can only guess at the reason why, but I would think it’s due to the “shake well” directions. It’s likely less risky to shake plastic than glass.
I’m From Rice Toner is vegan friendly, cruelty free, and made without artificial colors and fragrances. A full list of ingredients is at the end of the review.
My impressions
This toner really surprised me. Based on its look (the white liquid), and the fact that the brand describes it as having an “emulsion layer”, I thought it would be super thick and potentially heavy, something best for dry skin. It is nothing like that!
I’m From Rice Toner is quite thin and very pleasant to use. I’ve been doing more of a full routine in the mornings lately (I used to just slap on some sunscreen and call it good), because the weather is cold and everything is dry. I’m careful in selecting my morning products, since my skin is combination and I don’t want to overload the oily areas. This toner is perfect for my morning routine!
My skin is looking so much brighter and healthier lately. For someone with very dry skin, or even for me in the evenings, I’m From Rice Toner may work best paired with something more hydrating, either another toner or an essence. But in the morning, it’s simply perfect just the way it is.
I have two bottles of this, am about halfway down my first one, and will for sure use the second one when the time comes. That means I really love the product, because I rarely use more than one bottle of something, since there are so many new and exciting things to test and review.
