Isntree Onion Newpair Gel Cream is advertised as a spot cream and contains 71% red onion extract, sodium heparin complex, vitamin C derivatives, and tranexamic acid to even out the skin tone and deal with blemishes. It’s sold on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH), Olive Young (code KBHOBBIT77), and StyleKorean.
Please note that Isntree recently redesigned a lot of their packaging, so your version may look different from mine, even though I got mine only a couple of months ago. The formula inside should be the same.
Isntree promises results of a more even skin tone, decreased redness, and reduced number of blemishes after two weeks of use.
How to use
Apply to the entire face at the end of your routine

When I read “spot cream”, I thought maybe it was meant to go on just the acne spots. But judging by the use instructions, it should be applied to the whole face, which is how I’ve been using this newpair cream.
The product is opaque and slightly purple in color with a gel-cream texture. It’s easy to apply and dries down to a pleasant finish without stickiness. Someone with oily or even combination skin may find this to be a holy grail, but folks with dry complexion will likely need a heavier moisturizer at least some of the time. There’s a light scent that doesn’t linger - and no, it doesn’t smell like onion.
My impressions
Isntree Onion Newpair came to me in a set, and at first I didn’t really understand why a small tube of gel cream would cost over $30! What’s so great about it? Reading the marketing materials, I see that it’s packed with beneficial ingredients from heartleaf to tranexamic acid, which could be helpful for people with irritated, acne prone skin and pigmentation.
I have combination skin with some oily and some dry areas and I use this cream at night. The texture is great, especially if I want to hang out a bit longer after doing my routine and before going to bed - my skin feels velvety and smooth, without any grease. This couldn’t be my only moisturizer for daily use, because the dry areas of my face, as well as my neck, need something more nourishing at least a few nights a week. I could see this being a lovely morning product (under SPF) during the coldest seasons when my skin struggles with the elements and needs a little extra protection.
While this is definitely a lovely product that I enjoy very much, I cannot see myself spending close to $30 (or as high as $34 on some sites) of my own money for 50ml. I have seen it on sale for half off, which is more reasonable. My skin isn’t particularly sensitive, so I can get away with using a variety of moisturizers in a wide range of prices. I do love that Isntree Onion contains tranexamic acid, because it can make a difference and even out skin tone with regular use (don’t expect overnight results).
Overall, it’s a great formula with lots of potential benefits that might even allow someone to simplify their routine. I will continue using my tube and would happily get it again, but I wouldn’t pay full price for it. Now that I think of it, I haven’t had a breakout since I started using this a couple of months ago, so perhaps it really is that good. But it’s hard for me to isolate the effects of a single product since my skincare routine changes based on how my skin feels.
