Kao MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask Review

This post contains affiliate links. Product provided by YesStyle.

Kao MegRhythm Steam Eye Masks are self-heating, safe and convenient ways to relax tired eyes. Gentle heat and aromatherapy help release tension in a pleasant, soothing way. Each box has 12-14 individually wrapped, single use masks. I've also seen smaller boxes, but I usually get the ones with 12 or 14 units. They are available on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), and Stylevana (code INF10KBH).

How to use

  • Remove one eye mask from its package

  • The mask will start to warm up - use immediately

  • Secure the mask with soft ear loops, then lie back and relax

  • Keep eyes closed while using

  • The heat lasts for about 20 minutes

The masks come in several scents, as well as an unscented version (which is for some reason marketed to men). I’ve had rose, citrus, and lavender - all wonderful in their own way. I prefer the rose or lavender ones for ultimate relaxation. Citrus smells lovely too but is a more energizing and invigorating scent.

My impressions

I’m a type A, high stress person with two young kids, a job, a small business, and an inability to turn off my brain. My toddler still naps during the day, but I usually have a hard time falling asleep before I need to wake him back up. “Sleep when the baby sleeps” only works if the mom can actually fall asleep… Enter these awesome masks - they help me relax and gently drift off. Sometimes, I also put in my airpods and turn on one of Peloton sleep meditations. It’s simply perfect.

The ear loops are soft and stretchy and fit my large ears nicely. The masks warm up to a comfortable temperature - not too hot and not too cold. I can feel the tension melt away. I spend quite a bit of my day staring at a screen - for work, fun, and everything in between. I get tension pains in my neck, shoulders, and even the muscles in my forehead. Kao Steam Eye Masks don’t fix all of those issues, but they definitely help some of the musculature relax, plus they feel great.

Since the masks are single use and I try to think about the environment and my wallet, I don’t use them daily. But I keep a box on hand for an extra special occasional indulgence. It’s worth it.
