Ma:nyo Natural Sunblock SPF29 PA++ is marketed as a great way to protect the whole family from the sun. It’s available on Stylevana (code INF10KBH) and eBay.
How to use

The texture is awful - chalky, thick, and hard to spread. Manyo uses physical filters - zinc oxide and titanium dioxide - but that’s no excuse for this texture. I’ve had many physical sunscreens that apply beautifully. Also, I don’t love that the Natural Sunblock contains essential oils, which can cause unwanted reactions when exposed to the sun. Looking at you, lemon peel oil…
My impressions
This is horrible. So horrible that I only used it once, and not even over the whole face. When I couldn’t spread this cream on my cheek and it kept sliding and rolling, I didn’t bother doing the rest. I did my best on that side, looked at the ghostly, greasy white cast and had to wash it off. I usually test new sunscreens on the weekend, without makeup or anything else first. In this case, it was too terrible even for running errands. I’ve seen thick zinc diaper ointments that are easier to apply than this!
I can’t find a single redeeming quality for this Manyo sunscreen. Even the SPF is too low - I prefer to use SPF50. Most of us, myself included, do not apply SPF perfectly. Going with a higher factor can help mitigate some of that. Uber skincare nerds can also invest in a UV mirror to check for skipped zones and improve their application.
I’m so grateful that we have other wonderful sunscreen options and don’t have to use formulas like this one.
