Mizon Vita Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel Review

Exfoliation is a crucial step in my skincare routine. Products work so much better when applied to skin clear of debris and dead skin buildup. I enjoy leave-on exfoliation products like BHA toners, but the physical peeling gels are great as well. Plus, they provide immediate, visible results.

I’m currently using Mizon Vita Lemon Sparkling Peeling gel, available on YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for savings), Amazon, and Stylevana (use INF10KBH until the end of October 2021 for a discount).

This peeling gel combines lemon extract with other plant ingredients and cellulose to remove dead skin cells and provide smooth, clear skin.

How to use:

  • Apply to dry, clean skin

  • Massage for 1-2 minutes, avoiding the eye and lip area

  • Rinse and follow with the rest of your routine (I love using a sheet mask right after)

  • Can be used 1-2 times a week or as needed

The gel has a milky-white color and a wonderful, natural lemon scent that’s slightly bitter. By natural I mean it smells like a real lemon and not an artificial lemon candy; the product does contain fragrance (so the source of the scent isn’t necessarily all natural). A full list of ingredients is provided at the end of the review.

As you massage Mizon Vita Lemon Sparkling Peeling gel over the skin, it will pill into little clumps or what’s essentially cellulose. This isn’t dead skin, although it does help lift some of the dead skin cells off in the process. This gel doesn’t pill as much as some others, but it’s still very effective.

My impressions

This is a wonderful peeling gel. I use it about once a week, because I also have some BHA toners in my arsenal, and over-exfoliating isn’t a good thing. Definitely experiment and see what works for your skin.

I love the scent and the texture of Mizon lemon peeling gel - it’s a wonderful sensory experience. More importantly, my skin is left feeling smooth, clear, and ready for all the other products I use. Be gentle during the massage phase - I accidentally rubbed too hard the first time, before realizing this pills slightly less than other formulas, and had temporary redness. Now I am more light handed and have great results.
