I will never forget my first peeling gel experience - my face felt so soft and smooth that I was ready to shout from the rooftops. Now that I think of it, it could have been the very first Facebook review I’ve ever done, close to 5 years ago. That fascination with peeling gels didn’t go anywhere - I still enjoy them as a regular part of my weekly skincare routine.

Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel is made with lemon, centella, aloe, and chamomile - a full list of ingredients is available at the end of the review. It promises to gently remove dead skin cells and other impurities for soft, smooth skin.
How to use:
Cleanse and dry the face
Apply the peeling gel with dry, clean hands
Gently massage, avoiding the eye area, for about 30 seconds. The product will pill (it’s really fun)
Rinse off and follow with the rest of your routine
I use this 1-2 times a week and love to follow with a nice hydrating sheet mask, if I have time.
Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel has a fresh, lemony scent (my sense of smell is still not completely back after an illness, but I think I smell lemon. Someone who didn’t have the 2020 plague may have a different experience). The pilling is incredibly satisfying, but please note that this is mostly due to the ingredients in the product and isn’t actual layers of skin coming off. The pills do take some of the debris with them in the process, but not in such dramatic amounts as some sensationalized videos would have you believe. Kids these days...
My impressions
I can see why this is a best seller. The price, in my subjective opinion, is pleasant, and the product works so well. I have combination skin with oily and dry areas, and the peeling gel exfoliates well without causing dryness or any other unpleasant side effects.
My skin is sooooo smooth afterwards, and the effect is immediate. I appreciate a good leave-on exfoliating product, but nothing else gives quick results like a great peeling gel. And when life is full of problems and sleep deprivation, a little instant gratification can be so nice.
