Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule Review

This is a sponsored review with affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

My skincare routines are constantly evolving - there’s always something new to try, plus skin changes with seasons and age. But some elements are constant - my morning routine always has vitamin C and SPF in it. I love testing new vitamin C products, because kbeauty formulas are always improving. I already love Vegreen and their innovative vegan products such as Mucin Essence Toner and Mucin Serum, so of course I had to try their newest launch - Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule.

Because the product is new, I could only find it on eBay. Amazon, Stylevana (code INF10KBH) and Jolse all carry the brand and will likely have the ampoule soon.

Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule

Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule is a waterless formula, which helps the product be more stable. The star ingredients are the purest forms of vitamin C (Ascorbic acid 14% & Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether 6%) to fade hyperpigmentation and brighten the skin, plus chamomile to protect from oxidative stress and help with fine lines. A full list of ingredients is available at the end of the article.

How to use

  • Apply 1-2 drops in the morning and / or evening

  • Gently pat in

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

Store in a cool place away from the sun and use within 3 months of opening for best results.

Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule

I apply vitamin C serums in the morning after a water rinse or a toner pad, then follow with SPF. Vitamin C can help boost the effectiveness of sunscreen, so it makes sense to use it in the AM.

The texture is thicker than water and somewhat buttery - very easy to spread and feels like a hug when applying. The pump style packaging is a perfect choice for this formula. For my combination skin, the ampoule plus a good SPF offer plenty of hydration and moisture for the day. Someone with extremely dry skin may layer other toners and lotions as well.

The ampoule is fragrance free with a very faint citrusy ascorbic acid scent that I find pleasant. I only notice it for a few seconds if I hold my hand directly to my nose.

My impressions

I have combination skin with some dry and some oily zones and early signs of aging. I’m also extremely fair and prone to freckles / hyperpigmentation. I’ve been using vitamin C in my morning routine for years, so I was able to jump right in with Vegreen. If it’s your first ever vitamin C, consider patch testing.

I absolutely love this product. Since my t-zone is oily, I’m careful with what I use in the AM (I do not want to look shiny or greasy). Vegreen Vitamin C ampoule has a slightly thicker texture that feels silky but not heavy. My skin drinks it right up, and I have a nice glow all day, even after sunscreen and translucent powder. It’s a glow, not an oily sheen. The skin feels supple and nourished to the touch - not sticky at all. I tried the ampoule under several different sunscreens and it played well with all of them - no pilling or other issues. I’m not a big makeup wearer, but I had no problems using bb cream over the serum.

I’m a heavy handed serum user, but with Vegreen the recommended 1-2 drops is the perfect amount due to the texture. I add another drop or two to cover the chest and neck. I expect the bottle to last me several months. So far, I haven’t seen any color changes at all - it’s as clear and colorless as the day I started it weeks ago.

A lot of skincare is about maintenance and prevention, and that is very much the case for vitamin C. Preventing pigmentation is much, much easier than trying to reverse it later. Ever since introducing Vegreen Vitamin C Ampoule, my skin tone looks more even and brighter. I use this daily, including on the neck and chest, with no irritation. I have a very stubborn spot of post inflammatory pigmentation on my nose, and I swear it’s been looking less noticeable in the last month.

What a great formula that should work for all skin types. Dry and dehydrated skin will benefit from the richer, more nourishing texture. Combination and oily skin like mine can likely skip moisturizer and still enjoy a supple, glowy skin without excess sebum. Definitely worth a try.
