When I first got into kbeauty, I expected to find “night creams” and “day creams”, because that’s what I’m used to. To my surprise, Korean skincare largely doesn’t differentiate between day and night moisturizers, with the exception of some retinoid containing products and sleeping masks. Sleeping masks are moisturizers meant to be used at night and offer extra nourishment compared to other creams.

How to use

Most evenings, I use this like I would a moisturizer - after a full skincare routine, including serums and ampoules. But if I’m especially tired or unmotivated, it works fine over just toner.
VT Super Hyalon Sleeping Mask has a gel-like consistency but is more nourishing than most gel creams. There’s a noticeable scent - I find it pleasant plus it doesn’t last long. My skin is quite sticky / tacky after application, but the feeling is gone by morning. And it’s not sticky enough to cause any discomfort while sleeping. I usually don’t need to rinse anything off in the morning.
My impressions
Pre-portioned skincare rarely hits the spot for me - there’s either too much or too little in each sachet. I often “draft” mental reviews in my head when I use products, and I was definitely drafting a complaint about having too much moisturizer in each packet. That was until I took a few on vacation. I definitely appreciated having enough sleeping mask to cover my face, neck, chest, and even rub some into my hands, because traveling is hard on the skin. Especially traveling to warm places with lots of sunscreen, ocean water, pool chlorine, and drying airplane air.
My combination skin does well with the VT Super Hyalon Sleeping Mask - I wake up looking noticeably plumped and refreshed, without any dryness or irritation. I have used this around the eyes as well without any issues.
For home use, I still would have preferred a jar or a tube with better control over the amount dispensed. But I have to admit that individual packets are super convenient for travel or for sharing with friends. Overall, the product is good, the packaging is or isn’t depending on your preferences and needs.
