My inner hobbit and I have recently discovered that we have absolutely no
hydrating wash off masks. Blasphemy! Half of my fridge is basically hoards of sheet masks, but I had nothing in jars. How could I possibly live like this? :) I have combination skin with oily t zone and dehydration issues in the winter (which can make the skin produce even more oil). So I always try to keep my skin hydrated. Of course, in the summer the omnipresent air conditioning is also quite drying.
I chose Skinfood Freshmade Apple Mask because I already own the overnight pineapple one from the same brand and really love it.
The mask smells very potently of fresh apple, which is pleasant and evaporates quite quickly. The semi-translucent amber-colored gel has small particles of what I hope are apple peels.
How to use:
1. Apply to clean skin after toner
2. Wash off with warm water after 10-15 minutes
3. Apply the rest of your skincare (I usually do toner again, then the rest)
My favorite time to use it is while soaking in a warm bath. Apply, relax for 10 minutes, wash off - and come out looking pretty. I apply it to my hands as well since they tend to dry like crazy. The mask contains honey, well known for its antimicrobial properties, so when I start getting cracked and irritated hands, the mask soothes them and helps the healing process.
The jar may seem small when it arrives, but in reality, the mask is very economical. I have used mine about 5 times already and am not even to the halfway point. The gel spreads easily and you only need a bit to cover the whole face. I would estimate a jar lasting me 12-15 times, perhaps even more. Not too bad, considering the price.
