CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch Review

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

Confession time - I’m quite lazy (and yes, that’s why there was no review yesterday). Part of being lazy is not wanting to spend time in the morning applying decorative makeup. I love skincare, but not so much things like concealer and foundation. And, of course, walking around makeup-free is much more pleasant with clear skin. Today I will tell you about my must-have product that I have kept around at all times for the last year (or maybe longer) - CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch. It’s one of the best discoveries of Korean skincare.

Each sheet of patches comes in a resealable bag and contains 24 rounds of three sizes. The thin, see through material is hydrocolloid - the same material doctors use to treat wounds. It forms to the skin and adheres well, and is nearly invisible (although I do not wear them out). The patches are non-irritating and fragrance free.

CosRx patches do the following:

  • Keep the acne clean

  • Discourage picking and scratching (a big one for me)

  • Help whiteheads and even cystic acne flatten and heal faster

  • Greatly reduce the pain associated with hormonal breakouts

I’m not the only fan of this product - it has won the Soko Glam best of beauty award and Soko Glam people’s choice award. For the best price, I turn to* eBay and Amazon.

How to use:

  1. At the first sign of trouble, apply to a clean, dry area

  2. Leave it alone, overnight if you can

  3. The patch will turn white as it absorbs all the gunk

Once on, these are barely visible. If you look closely by my nail, you'll see a little round over a red spot.

I try to get it on overnight as soon as I feel something coming up on my face. But these are definitely great for the body too. I took them with me on vacation last summer and had a HUGE, very painful closed zit on my back (the kind I wanted to pick and pick but that didn’t have a head at all, just tons of pain). So, I slapped the biggest patch on it and the next morning the pain was considerably less. After another night (with a new patch), the whole thing flattened and healed. It’s some sort of skin magic.

Since I don’t break out often, I don’t go through the sheets too fast. They seem to keep just fine for months in a sealed envelope that they come in.
