Korean skincare brand Innisfree is well known for their green tea products, made with tea from the pure Jeju island. I have recently finished this lotion from their balancing line meant for combination skin. The Fresh line is marketed to oily skin types but works well for my combination skin in the summer.
Unlike watery essences, this one has a gel consistency and often replaces the serum step in my morning skincare. It’s made with extracts from the freshly squeezed green tea leaves to hydrate the skin without making it oily. Clove blossom extract in this product helps control shine for a matte finish without drying the skin.
How to use:
Cleanse the face and use toner
Apply 2-3 pumps of the gel on the face and neck
Follow with emulsion and/or cream, if using
Most of the time, I top this off with this emulsion and then sun protection and that’s perfect for the summer. The product is sold on eBay and Amazon.
My impressions:
This is a great essence, especially if you are new to Korean skincare. It’s very simple to use and I love the pump packaging that keeps hands and air out of the product. The bottle is also very easy to take along on any summer trips. The product can be used morning and night. It has a fresh, clean scent that dissipates quickly and is not bothersome. But, most importantly, it does what it promises to do - hydrates and controls shine without being too heavy or drying. To me it’s also important that the essence is made without parabens, animal products, synthetic colors, mineral oil, and imidazolidinyl urea.
