I got my hands on Mixsoon Bean Essence at a beauty expo, and it patiently waited its turn in one of my skincare crates. At the time, I hardly saw anything about this brand - it was new and unknown. I keep seeing more and more about it online now, so I finally decided to try it. Despite my best intentions to test every skincare product under the sun, I only have one face and have to pace myself - some bottles end up waiting quite a while, but I always keep an eye on expiration dates.
This essence contains fermented soybean extract and promises to moisturize while controlling excess skin oil. Fermented pear and barley offer additional antioxidant benefits. Mixsoon is available on YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH), and SokoGlam. The brand also has an official Amazon Storefront.

The bean essence has a pleasant, a bit slippery texture and no scent. My combination skin absorbs it quite quickly without any residual stickiness (at least none is felt after I put on moisturizer). Since my morning routines are very basic, I use the essence at night after toner. Sometimes, I add other serums on top, but not always.
My impressions
I try to evaluate each product based on its own merit, but it’s hard not to compare this essence to other things I’ve tried. I enjoy the Mixsoon Bean Essence and the hydration it provides. However, the $30 price tag is hardly warranted. I get more hydration and elasticity from the iconic Cosrx snail mucin essence, which can be often purchased at less than half the price of Mixsoon. If vegan skincare is your jam, I would opt for Vegreen yam serum. Both of these are significantly cheaper and more nourishing than Mixsoon. Even if all three of these were the same price, I still prefer the other two options to Mixsoon.
I am yet to see any additional benefits from the pear and barley ferments to justify paying a premium. All skin is unique, so your experience may be different. I will finish the bottle but will not take any steps to get this product again.
