I bought this cleansing foam mostly for my husband, but as you may remember from this review about skincare for men, he’s not necessarily the best at describing cosmetics. So I had to test it on myself as well.
The Welcos Egg Tightening Cleansing Foam promises to gently wash away dirt and oil without stripping the skin, all while making the pores less noticeable. Sounds good - husband has some impressive pores, and there’s no limit to perfection when it comes to my own. This cleanser is available on eBay and Amazon.
Active ingredients:
Egg Yolk extract - removes dead skin cells and debris, making the skin smooth and firm
Silk extract - tightens the skin and boosts collagen production
Strawberry extract - reduces pore size and brightens the complexion
Carrot extract - high in vitamins A and E, soothes and moisturizes damaged skin
Collagen - the building block of skin cells, it can help the tissues appear firmer and younger
The product is 6-free, meaning it does not contain 6 controversial and potentially harmful ingredients. It can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so be sure to use plenty of sun protection (which you should be applying daily anyway). My husband uses this foam only at night.
How to use:
Mix a small amount of cleanser with water in your palms or a bubble maker
Gently massage over the face, avoiding the eye area
Rinse off and enjoy clean skin
My impressions:
Too often I find “pore care” products - ones meant to clear and tighten pores - way too harsh and drying. I was really happy to discover that this foam is not one of them. It’s quite gentle and works very well. I sometimes use it after a workout to clear away all the sweat. The product dispenses as soft white “cream” and then foams well into luxurious soft bubbles. To my huge surprise, it smells of bubblegum (but faintly, thankfully) - not something I would expect from an “egg” product. The husband hasn’t complained of the smell yet :)
Overall, I think it’s great - gentle yet effective. I don’t love the scent but it’s light enough that it doesn’t matter much. Korean skincare world is full of egg containing products, and it was fun to try one for myself.
