There are days when a sheet mask is the highlight of my evening (dear family, I love you all very much, but sometimes mom just needs a timeout in a warm bath with a mask on; in silence). I’m always hunting down interesting and unusual masks, and the Candy O’Lady Sweet Lemon Candy Mask’s packaging caught my eye in a major way. It’s available on eBay, Amazon, and Facetory.
The microfiber mask promises to brighten and protect the skin with beneficial ingredients such as niacinamide (for pigmentation care), sodium hyaluronate (hydration), trehalose (anti-aging), and fruit extracts.
How to use:
Apply to clean skin after toner
Relax for 10-20 mins
Remove and pat in the remaining essence
Follow with the rest of your routine. Can be used before makeup application to prime the skin
My impressions:
I have combination, fair skin and was a little afraid to try this mask, because sometimes I turn pink/warm from masks with citrus or high vitamin C concentrations. But I had to remind myself that the masses are waiting for reviews (you are waiting, right?) and that a true blogger is brave. I’m happy to report absolutely no adverse effects.
The mask has a potent but very pleasant fruity/sweet smell reminiscent of candy, which makes sense given its name. I don’t like strong smells, but this one didn’t bother me at all. The material is thin and soft and adheres pretty well.
Afterwards, my skin was glowing and hydrated. I don’t know about using this as a makeup primer - I think I’d want to rinse off the remaining essence before putting makeup on.
