SNP Overnight Hair Mask Review - Nourishes & Renews and Strengthens & Restores

I’ve spent most of my life trying to improve my hair. It’s naturally fine, straight, and not nearly as full as I would like it to be. It’s currently quite long, past my shoulders, and I am trying to grow it even longer. My scalp is on the oily side, while the rest of the hair is quite dry. Korean beauty has been expanding into hair care, and today’s review is about two new overnight sleeping hair masks from SNP - Nourishes & Renews and Strengthens & Restores. The masks are available on eBay and hopefully soon on Amazon.

Each kit comes in a two compartment package - one with a thick, creamy mask itself, and the other with a cute hair cap featuring a sleeping animal.

The Nourishes & Renews mask contains seaweed extracts, pro-vitamins, and ocean minerals to restore hair while you sleep and deeply condition it, eliminating frizz and dryness. The Strengthens & Restores mask relies on bamboo extracts, pro-vitamins, and ocean minerals to repair damage done by heat styling, coloring, and just simple daily life, making your mane healthy and shiny.

Both masks are free of parabens, silicones, mineral oil, gluten, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrolatum, and phthalates.

How to use (official instructions):

  • Apply treatment to dry hair, concentrating on ends

  • Cover with sleeping cap and allow product to work overnight

  • Rinse well the next day and shampoo, if necessary

  • For best results, use 2-3 times a week

The back of the package has a QR code that takes you to a how-to video, where the girl has wet hair. I find the videos for both masks a little confusing, to be honest. The cap that comes in a kit is cloth-like meshy material. It will keep the mask contained, but if you put it over wet hair, you will have a wet pillow. I found a way to use these masks that works absolutely great.

What I personally do:

  • Use on the day between washes (so second-day hair)

  • Apply the mask on dry hair, concentrating on the ends/lengths

  • Put the hair into a loose bun and secure with a hair clip toward the front of the head (so it’s easy to sleep with)

  • Apply the cap, go to bed (I put a towel on my pillow just in case, but I’ve had 0 product transfer to the bedding, so I’m probably just being extra careful for no reason

  • Shampoo out in the morning, concentrating on the scalp. I skip conditioner

This is what I look like waking up - no makeup, no filter, messy eyebrows haha. 100% authenticity!

This method allows me to stick with my 2-3 times a week hair washing and still be sure no product clings to my scalp/hair roots, weighing them down.

My impressions:

I used to apply castor oil to my hair at night, but it’s messy and hard to wash off in the morning. I’m so glad Korean beauty is solving this issue for me. I like both masks very much. I think they work quite similarly to each other, despite the difference in active ingredients. My hair stays smoother and breaks less for several days after use, even after a couple shampoos (I’ve been doing these masks about twice a week). It also doesn't succumb to static electricity, despite the dry indoor heated air.

I feel no need for conditioner after I wash these out, and my hair is very easy to comb with no tangles. I have noticed no increase in scalp oil, which is another huge bonus - nobody likes hair treatments that make their roots greasy.

The caps are adorable, featuring cartoon animals. Each cap can be very easily used multiple times, so I ended up saving extras for future hair treatments that don’t come with their own cap.

One thing to note - these masks are quite fragranced. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s definitely a scent that lingers and makes my bed smell like the mask for the night. My husband and I both enjoy the scents, and my hair smells “normal” after shampooing the treatment out, but it’s something to be aware of if you are very sensitive to smells.

SNP in general is becoming one of my favorite brands. I have some products in line for reviews, and I have some published ones here. If you are interested in more hair care reviews, please click here.
