Abib Heartleaf Essence Calming Pump Review

This review contains affiliate links. I won this product in a giveaway.

Abib is a new to me brand. I won a wonderful package through Picky (highly recommend that app. Sign up here using invitation code 982961C6), and have had a great time getting to know the products. Watch the unboxing reel here.

The prize included four different essences - today’s review is about the heartleaf one.

Abib Heartleaf Essence Calming Pump promises bright, clear, soothed skin. It’s available on YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings), Olive Young, Stylevana, and Amazon.

Heartleaf is an anti-inflammatory ingredient that can soothe irritated and acne-prone skin. It has antibacterial properties and can help balance sebum production, making it a good option for people with acne prone and oily/combo skin.

How to use

  • Apply after toner

  • Pat in for better absorption

Just like the Yuja essence (review here), the Heartleaf essence has a gel-like consistency. A pump bottle works well for this. The essence is clear and has a very mild, pleasant scent. I can hardly detect it unless I hold the palms right up to my nose.

My impressions

I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. Since I’m so fair, redness happens quickly and frequently, so I am always on the lookout for soothing and balancing products. I look for items that will help the oily areas without drying out the rest of the face.

So far, I am liking the Abib Hearleaf Essence. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, so definitely keep an eye out for a final update in one of my Youtube empties videos (playlist here). I typically use this at night, after toner and before other serums (if any) and moisturizer. To me, the texture would warrant naming this a serum - I’m more used to essences being watery.

The reason I use this at night is because that’s when I can see any redness from the day’s adventures. Abib Heartleaf Essence does a good job in soothing the irritation. I’ve had no dryness or other issues from using it.
