Arencia Fresh Red Serum 30 promises to restore skin to its plump and youthful self by incorporating collagen, rose extract, and peptides into a jelly formula. Other goodies include ginseng, rosehip, tocopherol, and niacinamide. It sounded promising and looked interesting (I don’t see serums in jars often), so I decided to try it. The serum has a pleasant gelly texture and a very mild, somewhat unusual scent. It’s both herbal and floral, definitely interesting. I don’t mind it and it’s not strong.
I have combo-oily skin, although it’s getting less oily lately either due to retinoid use or aging or both. My morning skincare is typically just sunscreen, so I reserved Arencia Fresh Red Serum for the evening. I applied a thin layer, patted in, then followed with moisturizer. I tried this enough times to use up half of the jar.
My impressions
This may be the best, most amazing, most helpful product to ever cross my path, and I’ll never know, because I cannot get past the stickiness! Arencia Fresh Red Serum is the most sticky thing I’ve ever owned. I’m not super picky about the texture and finish of my night products, but this is basically unusable. Hours after application, my face was still uncomfortably tacky. I’ve had to rinse it off on more than one occasion. Eventually, I gave up on this serum. It went to my mom, because I can’t even use it on my body. She applied it immediately (in the middle of the day) and proclaimed “I like it”. Awesome. I try to do everything I can to make sure products get used and don’t end up in the trash.
