A couple of years ago, I decided to pay almost as much attention to the skin on my body as I do to my face. Cleansing and basic moisturizing are easy - there are plenty of products for that. But the list dwindles considerably when it comes to fun things like actives and pro-aging. I often find myself using kbeauty meant for the face on my body, but of course those jars and bottles are small and don’t cover a lot of skin real estate.
Imagine my absolute delight when I learned that By Wishtrend launched a brand new retinoid for the body - By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Body Lotion. I think I’m on my 4th bottle already. Of course I had to try the body lotion.
By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Body Lotion is a cruelty free, vegan moisturizer with bakuchiol, vitamin A, urea, AHA and BHA to gently exfoliate, moisturize, encourage cell turnover and help with the overall look of saggy and crepey skin. It’s also recommended for those who want to improve skin texture and help with KP (keratosis pilaris).

As expected, the lotion has a lighter texture than the face cream from this line. I don’t notice a scent. The dispenser is very cool! This is definitely an evening product for me, not just because retinoids do best after sunset, but because the moisturized feeling stays on the skin for quite some time. I can even feel it a bit in the morning. I don’t want that sensation during the day, but before bed it’s just fine. And by morning, only a little bit of that is left and doesn’t bother me / doesn’t stick to clothing.
My impressions
Shut up and take my money! I want a gallon of this, please! This is my first body retinoid ever, and I’m already in love. Long term results will take long term use (shocking, I know). Again, this is a new launch, so please please PLEASE be skeptical of creators who tell you that it already changed their skin in remarkable ways. Due to shipping delays, I’ve only had my package for a couple of weeks - long enough to fall in love with the texture, application, and the moisture this provides, but not nearly sufficient time to see big improvements in pigmentation or texture.
Like with any retinoids, it’s best to start slow. My face, neck and chest are accustomed to vitamin A, but the rest of my body - not so much. I started with three times a week and haven’t seen any unwanted reactions. I am using my regular non-retinoid moisturizers on other days and have stopped exfoliating for now. Once my skin is used to regular retinoid use, I will likely reintroduce some of the physical exfoliators that I like.
Overall, my first impressions are very positive. My skin is moisturized and happy. I’ll have to revisit this assessment when I’m done with the bottle and see if it made any other visible differences. At the same time, simply maintaining what I have and slowing down the aging process is a win in itself.
