This year, I got a chance to try Depology Peptide Complex 10% Serum formulated with Argireline™ peptide, available on the brand’s official site. Argireline™ peptide aims to prevent muscle movements that cause wrinkles, while the other serum ingredients support moisture levels and plump existing fine lines. Depology Argireline™ peptide Serum is especially effective in the areas with wrinkles caused by facial expressions, such as the dreaded 11s (lines between the eyebrows). Third party testing showed 7.22% reduction in wrinkle depth within 28 days.
This can be used as the only serum in your routine or in combination with Depology Matrixyl 3000 Serum.
How to use
Cleanse and apply toner
Gently massage a few drops of the serum into the skin, especially around the eyes and on the forehead
Follow with other serums such as Power C serum or Matrixyl 3000 serum, if desired
Finish with moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning
This product has a somewhat watery, thin gel-like consistency that spreads and absorbs easily. I notice a faint, pleasant lavender scent that doesn’t linger. A few drops is all it takes to cover the whole face and neck, so I expect the bottle to last me several months.
My impressions
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry-to-normal everything else. The biggest area of concern regarding wrinkles is my forehead. I tend to raise my eyebrows when life throws me curveballs, which is often, and now I have several shallow but visible horizontal lines. While there is nothing wrong with aging, I still want to do all I can to slow down its visible signs.
Argireline™ peptide Serum can be used in the morning or evening (or both). I typically apply it at night since that’s when I have the most time to devote to skincare. My skin drinks it right up and I don’t notice any stickiness or oiliness. The texture and finish are both pleasant.
I have been using Depology daily for several weeks. My wrinkles were not overly deep to start with, but they look less noticeable now. The skin is more plump and hydrated, even the color looks brighter and more even. I don’t have lines around my eyes yet, and I hope that using Argireline™ peptide daily will keep them away a while longer. And because the application process is a joy, I reach for the bottle every evening.
I love that the serum hydrates and plumps without congesting or overwhelming my oily t-zone. The entire face looks nourished without any one area appearing oily or greasy.
I cannot compare this to injectables / Botulinum Toxin since I have no personal experience with those. For now, my goal is to address as much as I can at home without involving needles. There’s definitely nothing wrong with either route, but it’s good to have options.
Overall, I’m happy to discover Depology and their efforts in innovating the skincare industry. I would love to try more of their offerings to see what they can do for my skin long term.
