I’m From Fig Boosting Essence Review

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

I’m From is one of my favorite kbeauty brands, so I mention it in my posts and videos fairly often. The recently launched fig line caught my eye right away. I’ve already reviewed the fig cleansing balm here and scrub mask here. Today, I have the final review - I’m From Fig Boosting Essence.

It's sold on* Wishtrend, Stylevana, YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings), eBay, and Amazon.

I’m From Fig Boosting Essence hydrates the skin and prepares it for the products that come next, boosting their absorption. The star ingredients - fig extract, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol - form a moisture barrier and deliver beneficial antioxidants. The brand used a patented eco-friendly extraction method Vegelive to include the natural cytosol, vitamins and polyphenols of fresh figs in this product.

A full list of ingredients is provided at the end of the review.

How to use:

  • Apply a few drops to clean skin

  • Gently pat in

  • Follow with the rest of your skincare

I don’t count drops and just pour a bit into my palms, then apply to the skin. Sometimes I do it right after cleansing, and sometimes I use a watery toner first.

As is often the case with I’m From products, the essence comes in a glass bottle. The liquid is clear (the purple tint is from the colored glass, not the product inside) and odorless. The consistency is slightly thicker than water with a very light “oily” feel to it. That doesn’t make the skin greasy but turns application into a real joy - the product effortlessly glides onto the skin. “Oily” may not even be the right word for it. Maybe “slippery”? That doesn’t sound right either. Ahhh. Sometimes reviews are hard :) I hope you know what I mean. It’s a luxurious “slippery” feeling, in the best way.

My impressions:

Another wonderful product by I’m From. I have combination skin with oily and dry zones. Hydration is key to proper oil control for me - without enough moisture, my skin ramps up oil production to compensate. I have a deep appreciation for effective products that do not rely on things like colorants and robust fragrances to make an impression. To me, the lack of noticeable scent and color in the I’m From Fig Boosting Essence is a huge benefit.

The hydration is noticeable. My skin feels more plump and refreshed. I typically use this essence in the evening (simply because I have more time and energy for skincare before bed vs in the morning), but it would work in the morning as well. I only need a bit of the product for the whole face and neck, so I think the bottle will last for a long time.

I love the glass packaging. While that doesn’t add to the efficacy of the product, it definitely contributes to my overall skincare experience and satisfaction. Glass always feels luxurious to me.

I’m From Fig Boosting Essence should work for all skin types. It’s very gentle, hydrating, and soothing. It plumps up my forehead lines (of course, don’t expect immediate miracles), and soothes the dry parts of my face without making the oily areas greasy. I’ve seen no negative effects or reactions whatsoever. And if you own the fig scrub mask from the same line, then using this essence afterwards feels heavenly.

I can’t wait to see what I’m From invents next.
