I’m From Vitamin Tree Water Gel Review

My skincare routine changes based on skin needs and even the time of the year. As the weather gets warmer, I tend to gravitate toward lighter moisturizers. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry-normal u-zone.

I’m From Vitamin Tree Water Gel has been a part of my moisturizer rotation for a few weeks. It’s available on Wishtrend (save with code LUCY15), YesStyle (save with reward code KBHOBBIT), and official Wishtrend Amazon store.

The gel is made with 68% vitamin tree water and is cruelty free. It’s also free of fragrance and essential oils. I’m From Vitamin Tree Gel promises moisturizing and brightening effects.

If you are like me, you are already wondering what “vitamin tree” even is. It took some googling, but apparently that’s another name for sea buckthorn. We used to have a sea buckthorn tree when I was little, and one of my jobs was picking small, delicate orange berries at the end of the season. They are mostly used for different medicinal concoctions and are known for their healing properties. Sea buckthorn is rich in vitamin C, which is why it’s known in some places as a vitamin tree. I typically associate sea buckthorn with a rich, orange oil that’s taken internally, so it blew my mind to see it in a watery gel formulation.

How to use:

  • Use at the end of the skincare routine as a moisturizer

  • Can be applied in AM or PM. Follow with sunscreen in the morning

The cream has a lovely gel texture and is easy to apply. It only takes a small amount to cover the face and neck. There is no stickiness as far as I can tell (unless I layer way too many other products in prior steps, then the end result will be sticky). Something interesting happens during application - it’s as if the gel were turning into water, hydrating and moisturizing the skin at the same time.

My impressions

This is one of my favorite moisturizers, especially for daytime. It goes on beautifully and feels light and refreshing.

I cannot speak to its brightening claims - I get most of that from dedicated vitamin C products - but moisturizing is on point. My skin feels nourished without being greasy. I like that there’s no scent. While I’m not against fragrance, I still prefer fragrance free products when available - they have a smaller chance of being irritating.

For night time in the winter, I would need something heavier. But in the Spring and Summer it’s perfect. And if you like to moisturize in the morning, then definitely look into this gel for any season.
