JUNOCO Clean 10 Cleansing Balm Review

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Even the most expensive skincare can’t work well on dirty skin. Properly removing makeup, sunscreen, and other impurities is a crucial first step to a good routine. My personal favorite way to cleanse is to use an oil-based product first and finish off with a foaming wash. A cleansing oil or balm can help dissolve sunscreen, makeup, excess sebum, and other impurities. Right now I’m using JUNOCO Clean 10 Cleansing Balm as my first step.

JUNOCO Clean 10 Cleansing Balm

JUNOCO Clean 10 Cleansing Balm is an oil-based cleanser featuring Japanese Barley Magic. This star ingredient is rich in vitamins and antioxidants and promises to improve complexion and reduce dark spots. The balm starts out as a soft, cream-like substance that quickly melts into a lovely oil as it warms up on the skin. It’s available on JUNOCO official website. Watch the transformation process in this reel.

How to use

  • Start with clean, dry hands

  • Use a spatula to scoop out a generous amount of the balm

  • Gently massage all over dry face (the balm will melt into oil)

  • Add some water and massage a bit more (the oil will emulsify)

  • Rinse

  • Follow with a foaming cleanser

  • Do the rest of your routine

I only double cleanse at night, but it could be done in the morning as well, if desired. Using the cleansing balm and hands is sufficient for me, but those who wear heavier makeup or just want a little extra massaging action can try the Cleansing Cookie (which is the cutest name ever). It’s a reusable makeup remover - get it wet and massage over the face after applying the cleansing balm. Then, rinse everything off and follow with a foaming cleanser. The cleansing cookie is very soft and gentle; I haven't had any irritation or other issues while using it.

My impressions

JUNOCO cleansing balm is a lovely first cleanser. For me, skincare is more than a utilitarian practice of cleansing and moisturizing, it’s how I unwind and relax at the end of the day. So having a balm that melts into a luxurious, wonderfully fragrant oil is fantastic. I’m not a heavy makeup user, but JUNOCO Clean 10 Cleansing Balm removes all of my makeup and sunscreen well without any excess friction or irritation.

I can’t comment on the balm’s ability to reduce dark spots, because I use other leave-on products to control pigmentation, but I also don’t expect these benefits from a cleanser. What I do expect is a pleasant, gentle but thorough cleanse, and this balm gives me just that!

I recently had a horrible cold which left my nose in a bad shape. I was pleasantly surprised that this cleansing balm didn’t sting or burn that sensitive area (I avoided all skincare when things were really rough, but eventually went back to sunscreen and double cleansing). It really must be gentle, but of course patch test if you aren’t sure.

Overall, I’m very happy with JUNOCO Clean 10 Cleansing Balm. It’s a gentle, effective cleanser at a fair price. I have other cleansing oils but have been reaching for this one daily. I will be sad when I’m all out.
