The original Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop serum was released 9 years ago. It sold over 4 million bottles and holds 23 awards in 9 countries. I had it a few times and published a review in 2021.

I adore kbeauty for all of its innovation, and the masterminds behind Klairs are no exception. This year, they came out with a new Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum. It’s available on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Soko Glam, Stylevana (code INF10KBH), Wishtrend (code LUCY15), and iHerb (code CWN6107). The serum promises to improve firmness, skin tone, pigmentation, and brightness. It combines a vitamin C derivative 10% 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid with Niacinamide to brighten. And by the way, if you still believe that niacinamide and vitamin C are a no-no together, I suggest reading a bit more on the subject.

How to use

  • Apply 1-2 pumps to slightly damp skin after cleansing

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

Some selling points advertised by the brand: no warmth during application, no metallic scent (didn’t have that issue with the original either), non-oily formula, no pilling / works well with makeup (the original didn’t pill on me either).

I like using vitamin C serums in the morning to boost the effectiveness of my sunscreens. The Charging Serum has a watery texture without much noticeable scent. I love the pump style packaging that’s fully protected from light.

My impressions

I liked the glow of the original Freshly Juiced serum, but didn’t enjoy the oily/heavy feeling. The new Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum has the best of both worlds. It still gives me a radiant, non-oily glow, but the texture is much more pleasant. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. When it comes to morning serums, the lighter - the better.

For me, applying vitamin C products is more about maintenance than treatment at this point. I have been a regular C user for years, which helped fade my numerous freckles. I don’t expect much further improvement, but I do want to maintain my results. This new Klairs serum is so pleasant to use that I reach for it all the time, which means it has a chance to benefit the skin. I do notice a slight additional brightness. If you are brand new to using antioxidants, vitamin C and niacinamide in your routine, your results might be more drastic and noticeable.

Overall, I love that the Wishtrend group released this new version of Klairs serum without discontinuing the original. The OG has a cult following, and I bet this new one will too. There’s something for everyone now.
