Mary & May Vitamin B C E Cleansing Balm Review

I’m somewhat hard to impress - after trying tons and tons of kbeauty for five years, taking hundreds of pictures and publishing more than 500 reviews on the blog, I feel like I’ve seen it all. But sometimes a product comes around that knocks my socks off from the very first use. It makes me want to shout from the rooftops right away (but I always wait to see how it works on a longer term basis). Mary & May Vitamin B C E Cleansing Balm is one of these products! It’s available on Oshen Skin (save with my code KBHOBBIT10). Watch the unboxing here.

Mary & May Vitamin B C E Cleansing Balm promises to effectively clean the skin of makeup, sunscreen, and other impurities without stripping or drying it out. It contains beneficial ingredients such as vitamins B, C, and E. I am not sure those contribute much to a wash off product, but it’s a nice bonus I suppose.

How to use:

  • Massage with clean, dry hands over dry face

  • Add a bit of water, massage some more (the balm will emulsify)

  • Rinse

  • Follow with a foaming cleanser and then the rest of your evening routine

The balm has a soft, creamy texture and easily melts once in contact with the skin. The scent is perhaps my favorite part - it’s mild and doesn’t linger, but is an absolute delight to the senses. I’m not sure how to describe it - it’s slightly floral and unlike anything I’ve smelled before.

My impressions

This was an instant Holy Grail for me and will for sure make it into my 2021 favorites video (subscribe to my Youtube channel so you don’t miss it). I love massaging Mary & May Cleansing Balm into my skin at the end of the day and feeling it melt away all the dirt and stress. One small word of caution - while this does a wonderful job at removing eye makeup, make sure you rinse the face thoroughly before opening your eyes. If the balm gets into your eyes, it stings a bit. It’s nothing major, but worth mentioning. If I keep my eyes closed the whole time while removing mascara and then rinsing with water, I have no issues.

This was my first experience with the Mary & May brand, and it’s overwhelmingly positive. I’m testing a couple of other products right now (reviews soon), and like those too. Definitely check them out on Oshen Skin and see what sounds good for your skin type and concerns.
