Missha’s Time Revolution essence is an iconic product. If you’ve heard of Missha, you’ve probably heard of the essence. I had one of the versions years ago (review here) and was really excited to try Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5X - the fifth generation of the best seller.
Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5X is made using the three step EXTREME FERMENT α™ method and promises to improve moisture levels, tone, and texture in 14 days. It is available on the official Missha US site, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), iHerb (code CWN6107), Amazon, and Jolse.
Missha’s First Essence is made with 97% Desert Cica Yeast Ferment, rich in antioxidants to hydrate, brighten, and reduce the visible signs of aging. Niacinamide offers a multitude of benefits from improving the appearance of pores to helping hyperpigmentation, and a duo of ceramide and glycerin supports healthy barrier function.
How to use:
Apply after cleansing with hands or cotton pads (I prefer hands)
Gently pat in for absorption
Follow with the rest of your routine
The essence comes in a beautiful glass bottle, has a watery consistency and no scent. My combination skin drinks it up within seconds. You may be used to applying essences after toner. However, Missha Time Revolution is a first treatment essence and is meant to be used right after cleansing. If you would still like to incorporate a toner, you may use one after the first treatment essence. My impressions
One way to know if a product is good is to finish it and not repurchase for a while. Sometimes, you can only see what the true benefits were once the item is no longer in your routine. This was definitely the case with my first bottle of Missha Time Revolution essence. I actually missed it when it was gone.
The 5X version didn’t disappoint! It absorbs almost instantly, and my skin looks and feels more firm when I use it (the results do take a couple of weeks to start showing, so be patient). More immediately, I notice improved hydration and an overall glow. I can’t remember now if my 2018 bottle was glass (I don’t think so), but the 5X is, and that adds a certain level of luxury to the entire experience as well.
Over the years, I have tried many toners and essences, and a few first treatment essences. Missha stands out, and I can see why their Time Revolution essence is a best seller and so popular. It’s on my list of iconic products everyone should try for themselves.
