I’ve been in love with the Petitfee Super Seed Lip Oil for years - it’s one of the very few lipcare products that I get again and again and actually finish. When I saw Petitfee Super Volume Lip Oil on Jolse, I had to have it.

Petitfee Super Volume Lip Oil

It’s made with six seed oils - jojoba, drumstick seed, opuntia ficus-indica, sunflower, sclerocarya birrea, and macadamia.

How to use

  • Apply to bare lips or over makeup

  • Wipe off the tip before replacing the cap (i don’t do this, but I would if I applied over lipstick)

Other than the obvious packaging / color differences between the volume and seed oils, the volume one focuses on plumping the lips while the seed oil creates a protective barrier. The star ingredient of the Petitfee Super Volume oil is Volufiline - an internationally patented French component that’s supposed to volumize the lips with each use.

The Volume Lip Oil feels more like a gel than an oil. Unlike a lot of Western plumpers, it doesn’t irritate the lips and doesn’t have any minty or peppery sensations. I do pick up a hint of a taste, but it’s not terrible. Even without any potential long term volume benefits from Volufiline, the product immediately makes the lips visually fuller due to its finish and texture.

My impressions

I like both oils, but the Super Seed is still my MVP. It’s hard to evaluate the Volume version on its own merit without comparing it to the yellow bottle. I don’t know what my opinion would have been if I tried the volume one first. I like how it moisturizes the lips and the subtle glossiness it adds. I can’t speak to the claims of increased volume over time - my lips are naturally pretty full, and making them fuller was never my goal. I simply wanted a good and pleasant way to keep them nourished.

With that said, I still prefer the original Super Seed oil. The texture is unmatched - it feels like the most luxurious serum / oil without being greasy. It looks even more glossy than the volume oil. I’m not sure I would repurchase the volume version, but the original super seed will always be in my rotation. Both are worth a try depending on your goals and preferences.
