One of the many reasons I love Korean beauty is how responsive brands are to consumer feedback. And that makes sense - Korean skincare market is so competitive that only the best, most attentive companies survive.

Purito has been a constant resident of my bathroom shelves for years. The first time I purchased one of their products was back when they only had three to choose from. These days, the lineup has expanded, and Purito can be often spotted in the hands of the big and famous youtubers.

One of the more recent Purito releases is Purito Centella Unscented Serum. The brand avoids synthetic fragrances and harmful ingredients, but their original centella serum (review here) contained essential oils. That didn’t bother my skin, but some people have sensitivities and have requested an unscented version. And the brand listened!

Purito Centella Unscented Serum is 100% vegan (made without animal ingredients) and cruelty free (not tested on animals). It doesn’t contain parabens, mineral oils, and other potentially controversial ingredients. It's sold on eBay, Amazon, YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings), and Jolse.

Main ingredients:

  • Niacinamide - helps with pigmentation and appearance of pores

  • Centella asiatica and its derivatives - soothes and heals

  • Panthenol - soothes and helps support a healthy skin barrier

  • Adenosine - stimulates collagen and elastin production

How to use:

  • Apply after toner, before lotion (see how I do it in this video, starting at minute 3:49)

  • Can be used in the morning or in the evening (or both)

My impressions:

It’s a great serum, and budget friendly (although, as an accountant, I dislike that term, since everyone’s budgets are completely different). The texture is light and gel-like; the product isn't sticky at all and wears well under makeup.

I had no negative reactions to the original formula, but I appreciate the brand’s willingness to make products suitable for all skin types and sensitivities. The new version is just as effective in reducing redness and helping heal breakouts. It also contains peptides for an anti aging effect, although I can’t say this is a strong anti aging product. It’s perfect for people like me - 20s to early 30s, with occasional breakouts and redness coupled with the first fine lines that are trying to take hold.
