Rovectin Cica Care Balm Review

Updated: Mar 28, 2021

This is the third and final review in my Rovectin Cica Care series. You can read about the toner here and the sheet masks here.

Out of all of the Rovectin Cica Care products that I got to try, the Rovectin Cica Care Balm is my absolute favorite. And yes, I saved it for last. It’s sold on* Wishtrend, eBay, Amazon, YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings) , and Jolse.

Rovectin Cica Care Balm is made without ethanol, artificial colors and fragrances. Like the other products in this line, it’s made with Barrier Repair Complex™ to restore and support a healthy skin barrier. Calamine and madecassoside work together to heal existing breakouts and help lighten dark spots and discoloration.

How to use:

  • Apply to skin instead of cream (after cleansing / toner / etc.)

  • I like to use it after the Rovectin toner and Dr Cica mask

My impressions:

When I hear “balm”, I imagine something very emollient and heavy that would be too much for my combination skin. That is absolutely not the case for the Rovectin Cica Care Balm. Yes, it’s nourishing and deliciously rich, but it’s not heavy or sticky. The product effortlessly glides onto the skin and envelopes it in a layer of soothing and protective cream.

I use this regularly, about 3-4 times a week in the evening. My combination skin is very prone to redness and irritation (not necessarily acne), and it’s a great thing to have the balm up my sleeve to quickly calm things down. I think it would work fine as a morning product as well, but I’m usually too lazy and too sleepy to do a full routine in the AM, so I stick to toner pads and SPF.

My only complaint about the balm is the package size. I really wish it were bigger! I want more of this amazing product. As far as the scent, I do not detect any. This isn’t officially fragrance free because of the lavender in the ingredients, but there’s no noticeable scent (to me). The pink color is from calamine.
