UPDATED Lador ACV Vinegar Treatment Review

This is an update to the original 2024 Lador ACV Vinegar Treatment review. In that blog post, I said I would buy the bigger pump bottle next time, and I did! It’s currently available on Amazon, Ulta, and Stylevana (code INF10KBH).

Please note that the packaging for this product has changed. I still have the older version, and the listings online seem to vary. Ulta sells what looks like the new packaging, while Stylevana has the older style. Packaging changes are common in kbeauty and don’t necessarily signal a formula change. In the case of Lador ACV Treatment, there seems to be a formula change as well. My original tube and pump bottles list 50,000 ppm vinegar, while the newly packaged version at Ulta cites 20,000 ppm. Since both types are still available, this review may be helpful to someone.

How to use

• Wash your hair

• Gently massage the treatment in from roots to ends

• Leave on for 10 minutes, rinse thoroughly

I have fine, thin hair, an oily scalp and dry / normal lengths. I color it with henna about once a month. I apply this treatment from the ear level down after washing, then rinse after 5-10 minutes. I avoid the roots since they are already oily and I don’t want to weigh them down. Lador ACV treatment has a creamy texture that’s slightly thicker than most conditioners but not as rich as hair masks that come in jars.

My impressions

I LOVED this product in 2024. And… I don’t love it anymore. But it’s probably user error. Let’s unpack.

Back in 2024, Lador ACV treatment was part of a rotation of conditioners. I used it regularly, but not with every hair wash. Now in 2026, I’m trying to limit the number of bottles around my bathtub and finish open things before cracking into new ones. Because of that, and because I have the larger pump bottle now, I’ve been using Lador ACV Vinegar treatment multiple times a week for months and months and it dried out my hair!

I changed nothing else about my haircare routine. Yet my lengths are now dry, brittle, and have almost no slip. Maybe there’s such a thing as too much ACV, despite the marketing claims of “healing split ends” (not a thing, the only thing that heals split ends is a haircut).

I will finish what’s left of my bottle, but will no longer use this Lador treatment after every hair wash. Maybe once a week or less often. I am curious about the updated packaging and formulation, but I also recently bought several hair masks and new conditioners and will need to use those up before getting anything else.
