Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum Review

I’ve never been much of a fragrance girlie, but started getting into it this Summer. After all, anything that provides even a shred of joy is worth exploring.

Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum is an iconic fragrance from 2010 that is still in production. It’s a bright, fruity floral and available on Amazon.

Top notes:

Passion fruit, minneola tangelo, pineapple, strawberry

Middle notes:

Red berries, lily of the valley, vanilla orchid, jasmine, shangri-la-peony

Base notes:

Musk, oakmoss, blond woods

The glass bottle features a zebra pattern of clear and frosted glass. I keep mine in the original box to protect the fragrance from light exposure and extend its life.

My impressions

I had a tiny bottle of Bombshell in college. And an even tinier one that I kept in my purse. I think it was some sort of holiday special, maybe the smallest one came inside of a Christmas ornament? When I was a kid, I never understood how adults could forget crucial things like the name of their first teacher or what they got for their 10th birthday. I get it now. Years go by and things slowly fade into nothingness. While I don’t remember exactly how I got this perfume, I remember how it made me feel - beautiful, grown up, and cool.

I’m 34 now, definitely grown up but not cool. On one of my very rare mall trips, I decided to stop by VS and see what they had. There were tons of perfumes on display, including Bombshell, so I gave it a sniff. I still love it. It’s not the most unique, interesting, or sophisticated. But part of growing up is making peace with my own preferences and not just trying to like what’s “cool” and “niche”. I walked away with a tiny paper soaked in the scent, and ended up ordering the full size on Amazon a few days later. I love it. It gives me joy. It makes me think of simpler times (which still didn’t feel simple at the time).

The scent is quite bold, so I only spray one or two times on my forearms, and sometimes a third time in the hair. I often find myself reaching for this in the evening, when my morning fragrance has worn off. It doesn’t matter that by then I’m wearing sweatpants and looking a mess - I use fragrance for myself and nobody else. And Bombshell makes me feel fancy, no matter what I actually look like at the moment. It lasts several hours. Despite having the traditional top, middle, and base notes described by the brand, the scent stays pretty consistent on me the entire time I wear it.

I’m not sure if I will repurchase this when I run out, but I’m enjoying the bottle I have to the fullest.
