Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner Review

I have combination skin with oily t zone. If I use nothing at all, then I get shiny on the nose and forehead by lunch, sometimes even earlier. I typically don’t break out. I love Innisfree brand dearly from my very first experience with them. I’ve liked everything that I’ve tried so far. I bought this toner quite some time ago, but made myself finish my other ones before opening something new.

The toner contains volcanic ash particles that absorb excess oil and debris from the skin - even those left after foaming cleansers and other cleansing methods. Also contains Protease, a natural exfoliant that removes dead skin cells.

To use: after cleansing, saturate a cotton ball or disk with the toner. Carefully apply to the face, avoiding eye and lip areas. With other tones, I usually use my hands to apply, but with this one I think a cotton disk works best at helping the toner remove all impurities from pores.

Doesn’t contain: parabens, synthetic dyes, mineral oils, animal products.

A bit about the fragrance - the toner smells surprisingly “girly”, especially given the unisex design of the bottle - brown and serious. But the smell is flowery. I’m not totally in love with it, but the toner itself works so well that the scent won’t stop me. Besides, I can smell it only very close up, basically sticking my nose in the bottle, and it dissipates fast after application. I want to try and get my husband to use it, because his skin type would greatly benefit from it. Maybe he won’t notice the scent…

The toner is absolutely wonderful. The face mattifies immediately and becomes very soft and smooth to the touch. Doesn’t overdry or cause any flaking. I get no shine, not even after lunch. The bottle is huge and will probably last me the rest of my life :) The volcanic ash particles settle on the bottom in a fuzzy looking sediment, but that’s normal. Shake the bottle well before using.

I use the toner in the morning, after cleansing (I usually use only a foaming gel without cleansing oil). In the evening, I use a more hydrating toner from the same manufacturer. But if you wake up with an oil pit for a face, then you can use this toner before bed as well.

From the manufacturer:

Toner for daily oily skin care.

  1. Sebum control technology™: controls sebum production, making the skin clean and smooth

  2. Effectively removes cosmetics residue

  3. Shake before using: the mineral powder in the components cleanses pores and absorbs excess sebum.

The Story of Jeju Volcanic Cluster During the time of volcanic eruptions on Jeju Island, hot lava fragments formed clusters as they solidified. Found nowhere else on earth, these naturally porous clusters are packed with minerals and have the ability to absorb excess oil and impurities from pores.

You can buy the toner on eBay or Amazon
