Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot One Shot Peeling Pack Review

Warning - this review includes pictures of feet. If that’s not your thing, perhaps pick a different review to read. I don’t want to traumatize anyone ;)

I swear, my heels weren’t even “that bad” last year when I tried the Holika Holika Peeling mask for the first time. But, there’s no limit to perfection, so I bought it (in the summer - not a wise choice, more on that later).

The kit comes with two plastic booties and a special liquid that you pour into each one. The rest is simple - insert feet into booties, pour the liquid in, sit back, and wait 90 minutes. It IS possible to walk in these (I have a small child so sitting around for 1.5 hours isn’t really all that easy), but don’t plan on running any races in them.

The scent starts out quite pleasant but becomes annoying toward the end, like a very strong flowery nail polish remover. The results are worth it, though, in my opinion. I did have some slight tingling sensation, but no pain and no discomfort. After 90 minutes, toss the booties and rinse the feet with water.

The effect takes time - be patient. I did the mask on a Monday last year. On Saturday, the right foot started to peel a bit. On Sunday, I took the kid to the pool. I was sitting there on the ledge, splashing my feet in the water, then decided to look down and saw THIS.

Um, HORROR. No pain, but the look is truly atrocious - bubbling, peeling skin. Nobody else saw (I hope). And that’s the reason why this year I’m ordering them now (in April) and not waiting until pool season. And getting a pair for my husband :)

The skin continued to painlessly come off in the following days. Even the stubborn calluses that I sometimes shave off softened and peeled. The pictures are graphic, I know, but how else can I demonstrate results? There are definitely uglier feet in the world than mine :) And let me stress this again - no pain.

Looks like the brand updated the packaging since last year (a frequent occurrence in Korean beauty) - it is now blue and white.

The peeling pack is available on eBay and Amazon

May 2018 update: I have now tried the new version, and it's just as great if not even better than the original. I'm so glad that I didn't wait until pool season this year to take care of the callouses and dead skin.
