Urang stands for Ultimate Radiant + Natural Glow. It’s a new to me brand of Korean skincare founded by an aromatherapist Jina Lee. Urang is cruelty free and uses natural and organic ingredients to make effective yet safe products.
The True Rose Repair Essence nourishes and hydrates all skin types, including sensitive and mature. The main ingredient - organic rose water - soothes and calms. The essence contains no artificial fragrance, additives, toxic chemicals or preservatives. It’s available on eBay and Amazon.
Active ingredients:
Rosa damascena flower water - a soothing, anti-aging component with a fantastic rose scent.
Salix Alba (Willow) bark extract - a natural source of salicylic acid; can help heal breakouts.
Centella asiatica extract - a healing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial herbal extract incredibly popular in Korean skincare.
Camellia sinensis leaf extract - green tea extract; naturally rich in antioxidants, green tea protects the skin from free radical damage.
The essence is a light gel and comes in a glass pump bottle for easy application. It smells amazingly of Bulgarian rose. When I was a little girl, my grandma had a wooden carved bottle that at some point had Bulgarian rose oil in it. The oil was long gone, but she kept the pretty packaging, and even years later it still smelled like rose oil. This essence smells exactly like that! And, fun fact, I was able to order a very similar bottle directly from Hungary for my mom - the nostalgic value can’t be quantified.
How to use:
Apply to clean skin after toner
Gently pat in
Follow with moisturizer
My impressions:
I’m typically a price conscious consumer, but some luxuries are worth a splurge, and this is one of those times. The serum is incredible - it’s light and silky. My skin soaks it right in. I have noticed that my skin is softer, smoother, and the complexion looks healthier (probably because rose water is naturally high in vitamin C). At times, “mature skin” products are heavy for me, but this one is not. I’m 29 with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks, and of course the first signs of aging are trying to creep in, so I’m not against using anti-aging products even now (some people would say it’s too early). Urang also makes a rose water cream (review here) that would be good for people with dry, mature skin.
