AMUSE Lip Smudger is a vegan lip pencil with shea butter and vitamin E. It promises to enhance the lips, making them look plump and juicy. The lip smudger comes in 6 colors on Jolse; mine is #02 ROSE.

#00 Shading: Natural shading beige color for neutral tone
#01 Boksoonga: Nude peach color for neutral tone
#02 Rose: Nude rose color for neutral tone
#03 Salmon: Salmon beige color for warm tone
#04 Hippie Girl: Reddish rose color for warm tone
#05 Boksoonga Milk: Milky peach color for cool tone
How to use
Line the lips and fill them in
Apply lipstick / gloss of choice
If desired, use shade 00 for contouring the cupid’s bow, corner, and under the lower lip for added illusion of volume
The formula is easy to spread but not exactly buttery or nourishing. If used alone, my lips look very dry and cakey.
My impressions
I almost never use lip liners. The ones I’m used to are fine tipped and meant for precise outlining / overlining. Amuse lip smudger is wider / thicker for softer, less precise lines. The brand advertises it as great for overlining the lips.
My lips are naturally full (not IG filter full, but full enough for me), so I don’t overline them on purpose.
I have tried using the smudger in two ways - filling the lips completely as suggested by marketing materials and only doing the outline. I don’t love either method. When filling the lips completely, the color tends to settle into dry areas of the lips. It also gets patchy / breaks up when I top it off with lip color. When only applying this as a liner, I don’t feel like it contributes much to the overall look. Perhaps a different color would have worked better, or maybe I’m just not the target audience. Either way, I don’t hate this product but I don’t see a personal need for it.
