AXIS-Y 61% Mugwort Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Mask Review

I’ve been steadily falling in love with AXIS-Y and their products - they make my favorite cleanser (review here), clay mask (review here) and other lovely things. So I’m super excited about getting their sheet masks to try. Check out AXIS-Y Instagram account for all their offerings and product info.

AXIS-Y 61% Mugwort Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Masks are made with plant-based cellulose fiber and drenched in an essence with 61% mugwort extract. They promise to help dry, irritated skin by healing, soothing, and hydrating it. The masks are available on AXIS-Y official website and on YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for a discount).

How to use:

  • Apply to clean skin after toner

  • Relax for 15-20 minutes (I like to sheet mask while taking a bath and watching YouTube videos)

  • Remove the mask, pat in the essence

  • Lock in with moisturizer

The masks follow AXIS-Y’s 611 process - 6 key / active ingredients, 1 core ingredient, and 1 effective technology. The core ingredient is mugwort, the 6 other ones are centella asiatica, cabbage, spinach, peony root, okra, and broccoli. Together, these help the skin recover, improve hyperpigmentation, moisturize, and support a healthy barrier function.

The mask is thoroughly saturated with a green, see-through gel-like essence. There’s quite a bit in the envelope, so I spread the extras all over my neck and chest. The material is very soft and adheres well. I prefer to relax while masking, but if you want to walk around with this on, it probably will not fall or slide off. I don’t notice much of a scent, but my senses aren’t totally back to normal yet after a recent illness.

My impressions

This is one of my favorite soothing masks. I love the gel essence and how soothing it is for my skin, especially if you store the masks in the fridge. My skin is combination with occasional breakouts, some redness, and some early signs of aging.

I notice a pretty instant soothing effect with reduced visible redness. My skin is definitely extra hydrated without being sticky or greasy - that effect lasts for a few days. With regular use, it will likely last even longer.

Overall, I’m very happy with these masks and would even happily purchase the essence they are saturated with as a stand-alone product in a bottle. I would love to be able to use it all over my body, especially after sun exposure or hair removal and any other potentially irritating things.

Have you tried any AXIS-Y products? What did you think?
