I love toners! Even before I had a blog, I would try many different ones, often having several options in my rotation. AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner is one of the brand’s new releases - it’s available on the AXIS-Y website. YesStyle also carries the brand (use reward code KBHOBBIT). Essence toners combine the benefits of toners and essences in one easy step.
AXIS-Y uses 6+1+1 Advanced Formula skincare (611), which stands for 6 key / active ingredients, 1 core ingredient, and 1 effective technology. In this toner, the core ingredient is hyaluronic acid (10 kinds of it, with reduced molecular size through Oligo-HA technology to allow the ingredients to get into the deeper layers of the skin). The other 6 beneficial components are: allantoin, centella asiatica, heartleaf, squalane, green tea, and mugwort. There are great ingredients known for their soothing, calming, and hydrating properties. A full list is available at the end of the article. The toner has no noticeable smell. The consistency is slightly thicker than water - it’s really easy to apply (I use my palms) and has a pleasant “slip”. If you are a fan of using the 7 skin method (layering hydrating products up to 7 times in a row), you may find that just 1-3 layers of the AXIS-Y essence toner provide the needed hydration, instead of all 7.
My impressions
I love this toner. Ever since it came in the mail, I’ve been using it nearly every night. It’s so hydrating and wonderful to apply. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry/normal everything else. It’s getting colder now (we might get snow this week, and already had the first snow of the season days ago), so proper hydration is extra important. When my skin is dehydrated, the t-zone produces extra oil and gets very shiny, and the cheeks get so dry that they flake.
AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner allows me to water my skin (usually at night), and wake up with a hydrated, glowing face. I am also using the other two products from this line - stay tuned for reviews. But spoiler alert - the Aqua Boosting line is awesome.
