Frudia is a hit and miss brand for me (ok ok, mostly it’s a miss), but tightening USA sunscreen regulations mean that I’m going through my stash instead of restocking favorites. I’ve been using Frudia What’s Wrong Help Cicaderm Sun Cream for several weeks. It’s a chemical SPF50 PA++++ sunscreen available on YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT) and Olive Young (code KBHOBBIT77).

Sunscreen tube labeled "WHAT'S WRONG? HELP CICADERM SUN CREAM 50+ SPF/PA++++" on a pink background. Green cap, minimalist design.

How to use

  • Apply to exposed areas as your last skincare step

  • Reapply as needed throughout the day

Frudia What’s Wrong Sun Cream is easy to apply (once you get it out of the tube, that is). The cream spreads well, but there must be a mismatch between product packaging choice and its texture. It takes too much force and too much time to squeeze the appropriate amount through the small opening. If you have mobility / hand strength issues, this is likely not a product for you.

It takes only a minute or two for the formula to dry down. The finish is on the dewy side, but not sticky or tacky to the touch.

My impressions

Why can’t Frudia just calm down with fragrance? I love a good scent as much as anyone, but this brand takes aromas way beyond a reasonable level. What’s Wrong Help Cicaderm Sun Cream smells like a fresh pine, in all the wrong ways. The scent was strongest the first week or so after I opened the tube. It’s lessened somewhat now, but still too strong for my liking. Cica is a soothing ingredient often marketed to people with sensitive skin. In what world would they want this much scent? Sigh.

Scent aside, the formula is pretty nice. There’s no white cast and no greasy feeling. I use translucent powder to mitigate the dewy finish. If you like a glowy face, you’ll enjoy this as is.
