Hamel Vegan Aqua Glow Sun Serum Review

his post contains affiliate links. Product provided by Oshen Skin.

If you can find sunscreen that works for your skin and budget, then consider most of your skincare troubles solved. Sun protection is the most important part of any skincare routine - it prevents premature photo aging and cancer and can even help with the appearance of pores. I test as many sunscreens as I can in hopes of helping my readers find the perfect formula for them. For a list of the most highly recommended options by skin type, see this post.

Oshen Skin has been my supplier of quality, niche and hard to find kbeauty brands for some time now. I got to know and love the owners, and they never steer me wrong. So when they offered me their newest curation - Hamel sunscreens - of course I said yes! I started with Hamel Vegan Aqua Glow Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++, available on Oshen Skin. Remember to use my affiliate code KBHOBBIT10 on every order (works on full priced items). Watch the unboxing reel here to check out the unique packaging of Hamel sunscreens.

Hamel Vegan Aqua Glow Sun Serum

This is a vegan, fragrance free chemical sunscreen that promises to protect the skin, prevent fine lines and wrinkles, and brighten the complexion.

How to use

  • Apply to exposed areas at the end of your skincare routine

  • Reapply every two hours or as needed

In line with the name, this sunscreen has a serum consistency and spreads very easily. It’s slightly tacky when first applied, but dries down quickly and doesn’t feel sticky after that. The finish stays dewy the entire time. There is no scent and no visible white cast, and my guess is that there won’t be a cast on any skin tone.

My impressions

What a lovely option for people who like a dewy finish and don’t want any fragrance or white cast! I love the packaging - it’s unique and eye-catching. I find it super easy to take with me without worrying that the tube will get accidentally squeezed or destroyed. Because the sunscreen is liquid, it’s still very easy to dispense. Some liquid sunscreens can feel drying, but Hamel doesn’t.

Hamel Vegan Aqua Glow Sun Serum

I apply Hamel Vegan Aqua Glow Sun Serum all over my face, neck, ears, and around the eyes. I have combination skin that’s not too sensitive. The finish is dewy but not greasy. I personally prefer a more matte look, so I top mine off with a thin dusting of powder once the SPF is dry. My eyes tolerate this just fine without any stinging, burning, or other unpleasant sensations. If you like a natural looking glow, then you will likely love this sunscreen as is, without the powder.

Hamel Vegan Aqua Glow Sun Serum

Overall, it’s a great sunscreen that I will continue using. Can’t wait to try their cream formula as well.
