I promised you lots of SPF reviews this summer, and I plan to deliver as many as I’m able to test. Today is all about Make p:rem UV Defense Daily Sun Fluid SPF 50+ PA++++. Make p:rem UV Defense Daily Sun Fluid contains a combination of chemical and physical filters. It’s sized more generously than most other sunscreens (5.07oz / 150 ml), making it a great option for the body as well.
How to use:
Use at the end of your skincare routine, before makeup
Apply generously to the face, neck, ears, etc - anywhere exposed to the sun
Reapply every 2 hours (true for any SPF, not just this one)
In addition to offering sun protection, this product features other beneficial ingredients to care for the skin, such as moringa seeds, “pollustop” complex, and fruit extracts. A full list of ingredients is available at the end of the review.
The formula is cruelty free, vegan friendly, and doesn’t contain artificial fragrance or colors.
The texture is light, not quite a lotion but thinner than most creams. It goes on easily and isn’t greasy or sticky. I notice the tiniest bit of a white cast, nothing major, and definitely not a deal breaker. The fact that this isn’t sticky is the most important part for me. I typically don’t use a moisturizer - this alone is enough for my combination skin.
My impressions
Way back when, I had the original formula of this sunscreen, and it was one of my absolute favorite SPFs. I recommended it to people countless times. To be honest, I was not thrilled to learn that the brand decided to reformulate. I can only speculate about the reasons for this.
To my great relief, this new version is just as good as the old one, perhaps even better. I can’t exactly compare them side by side, because it’s been a few years since I had the original, so just going off of memory (you can read my original review here).
I love the finish - it’s semi-matte but not drying and works well by itself or under makeup. There’s very minimal white cast, if any (I’m very pale, so take that with a grain of salt), and no scent as far as I can tell.
I have combination skin and find Make p:rem UV Defense Daily Sun Fluid perfect for my needs. It fully replaces a moisturizer in the summer. And it doesn’t dry out my skin, even with re-application. I hope the product will continue to be easy to dispense as I get closer to the bottom of the bottle. No issues so far.
