Rovectin makes some of my favorite products - I adore their cleanser, sunscreen, and cica balm - but it’s been a while since I tried any of the new launches. Because my skin goes through a lot this time a year, it is a perfect opportunity to open one of the new ampoules.
Rovectin Cica Care Clearing Ampoule is an unscented, cruelty free and vegan product that combines centella asiatica with calamine to help with breakouts, irritation, and sensitive skin. The ampoule can be used both morning and night. I reach for this at night, because that’s when I have the most time to devote to a multi-step routine.
Rovectin Cica Care Clearing Ampoule has a gel-like consistency and a faint pink color - most of the bright pink in the pictures comes from the packaging, not the product itself. Because of the slightly thicker consistency, the pipette doesn’t always get enough product out of the bottle. A simple way to deal with it is to take the pipette out, squeeze the rubber part, then put the pipette back in and release the squeeze. This way, I get enough product every time. But squeezing the rubber tip while the pipette is inside the bottle is hit and miss.
My impressions
While my skin mostly behaves itself, I still get occasional breakouts, irritation, and redness. And because I’m very fair, any little imperfection stands out. I’ve been reaching for the Rovectin Cica ampoule any time my skin needs a bit of extra soothing.
I love the light, non-stickly texture and how easily the product spreads and absorbs into the skin. Even if I have a little scratch or a sore zit, there is no stinging or burning. I notice an overnight improvement in redness and irritation. This is another win from Rovectin and I’m glad I made room in my routine to try this ampoule.
