The star ingredients - salmon oil and salmon roe - are rich in Omega-3s and promise to reduce the appearance of dark circles. The concealer comes in two colors - Salmon Blooming and Salmon Beige. My impressions
This is arguably the worst makeup product I have ever tried. It’s super thick, hard to apply, somewhat oily feeling, and adds unwanted texture to my skin. I have some dark circles, mostly from the shadows formed by the way my eyes are set. I only need a bit of brightening to make a huge visual difference. The Skinfood concealer makes everything look worse and gives me “chicken skin”.
Quite often, the things that I hate with a passion end up working wonders for my friends. I couldn’t figure out if my issue with the Skinfood Salmon concealer was a lack of skill or a true fail product, so I passed it on to my superstar friend who is fantastic at makeup and is a licensed beauty professional. She hated it too. The text I got from her after asking for her opinion: “No, I didn’t like it either at all! I tried it multiple times and you can see so much texture and it didn’t blend out well at all!”. So, there you have it - my makeup noob self and my amazingly skilled friend both agree that this is garbage. The coverage is, indeed, full, but that’s all I got for positives. I’m going to have to pitch this one, and I almost never throw anything out.
