VEGREEN Fragrance-free Cica Serum Review

This is a sponsored review and contains affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

Vegreen is a fairly new to me brand, but I was very impressed with their vegan mucin products - toner (review here), serum (review here) and cream (review here). The most recent addition to the Vegreen family is Vegreen Fragrance-free Cica Serum. It’s available on Amazon, eBay, and Oshen Skin (discount code KBHOBBIT10).

Vegreen Fragrance-free Cica Serum is 70.7% centella asiatica leaf water plus skin-loving ingredients such as glycerin, panthenol, allantoin, hyaluronic acid, and centella derivatives such as madecassoside. It promises to soothe and moisturize sensitive skin. My skin is reactive, meaning I get redness / irritation easily, plus an occasional breakout, so I like to keep soothing serums like this one on hand at all times.

How to use:

  • Apply to clean skin after toner

  • Pat in

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

  • Can be used in the morning and / or evening

The serum has a thin, watery texture and no noticeable scent. I appreciate the pump dispenser, because often products with this texture are packaged in dropper bottles, but a pump works so much better in my opinion.

The beautiful blue color is courtesy of malachite extract (not artificial coloring). Malachite is a precious gemstone that is supposed to provide trace elements like zinc, selenium, manganese and copper to nourish the skin and help with oxidative stress. Panthenol can help restore and support a healthy skin barrier, and as many of us already know, centella and its derivatives have soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.

My impressions

Another win from Vegreen for my combination skin! This will likely work for all skin types - the product is very versatile. I apply mine after toner in the evening, but it would work in the mornings as well. If my skin is particularly mad at me, then I double my efforts and use the serum twice a day.

Because of the light, watery texture, it layers beautifully with other products, including sunscreen and makeup. There’s no stickiness, oiliness, or other undesired side effects. I definitely notice the promised soothing effects - redness and irritation are lessened overnight.

I do have a pretty large repertoire of skincare, but reach for this serum over and over since my skin has needed extra love and care lately because of the cold weather and constant mask wearing. Vegreen Cica Serum is helping keep breakout and blemishes at bay. I also appreciate that it is fragrance free so that more people can enjoy it (fragrance sensitivities are common).

Overall, a great serum and I will happily continue to use it.
