I have two non-negotiables before leaving the house - sunscreen and powder. I like a matte (ish) finish, and if that makes me an outdated millennial, then so be it. Fun fact: when I asked my kid to guess which generation I’m from, she said “prehistoric crustacean”...
I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, so when I saw ZEESEA Clear Silk Powder in collaboration with the British Museum, I had to have it! The powder comes in a variety of colors and lid designs on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT) and Stylevana (code INF10KBH). I chose AM00 Light.

The brand promises “light as air” feeling and long lasting oil control.
How to use
Apply to desired areas
I prefer to use a brush vs the included puff (which is what I do with all powders, regardless of brand)
ZEESEA advertises blurring of fine lines and imperfections, but I do not see that effect. But it doesn’t make the lines more obvious, which is already a win for a mattifying product.

The powder does a great job getting rid of excess shine and slightly camouflaging redness and breakouts. If I have a prominent zit, bruise, or scratch and want to fully cover it up, I have to use concealer or something else before the powder. ZEESEA makes my face look like skin but better, letting my freckles and small imperfections peek through. I prefer this to full coverage products. If you like more robust makeup, then ZEESEA can act as a setting powder / last step to prolong the life of your masterpiece.
The powder is smooth and fine milled. The packaging is everything I wanted - beautiful, sturdy, and unique. I love it and will have a hard time disposing of it when the powder is all gone.
My impressions
This didn’t take the crown from my all-time favorite Canmake Marshmallow powder, but it’s a close second. ZEESEA does a great job mattifying the face without looking dry or crusty. One reason Canmake wins for me is it’s a bit softer / easier to deposit onto the brush - it takes more swirls / effort to get a comparable amount of ZEESEA. This isn’t a deal breaker and might even be a good thing if you like to carry your makeup with you, because ZEESEA is less prone to breaking and cracking. The price is also amazing.

The oil control isn’t super long lasting, but I get 5-6 hours of no shine, which is good enough for me. Even when a bit of shine comes back, it’s a lot better than what it looks like without using powders. I don’t ever feel the need to reapply this powder.
As a stand alone product, without comparison to anything else, ZEESEA Clear Silk Powder is great and worth a try. I would happily get it again and I think it looks fancy enough to gift to someone without breaking the bank. I am already planning my next ZEESEA haul!
